In Memory of Delores Pewaush
Delores Pewaush, age 77, a resident of Webster passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Delores was born on October 22, 1943 in Cumberland, WI to Sam Bearheart Sr. and Rose Hart.
She married her sweetheart on July 20, 1954 in Cumberland, WI.
Delores work at the LCO Community College as a language instructor for many years. It was her pride and joy to teach others the native language and the culture of her tribes’ history.
Delores loved her animals. She had 2 dogs, Niish and PJ; and 2 cats, dirty kid and Bug. She enjoyed watching sports the Atlanta Braves were her favorite baseball team, and the Packers were her favorite football team.
Delores loved to listen to Conway Twitty and would turn him on any time she had the chance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; daughters Diana Pewaush and Mona Martin; granddaughter, Lauren Deana; infant grandson, Jason; grandsons, Anthony, Jr. and Nathan; sister Joyce.
She is survived by her children, Anthony Pewaush, Lorne (Laurel Sutton) Pewaush, Jaclyn (David) Shabaiash and Curtis Pewaush; grandchildren, Davien, Diana, Samual, Autumn, Tina, Melvin, Jessica, Nicole, Katelyn, Tyler, Cody, Lisa, Brian and Derek Lee; great grandchildren, Raelyn along with many others; brothers, Sammy Bearheart Jr., Wesley Bearheart and Michael Bearheart; sister, Ellen (Kenneth Smith) Butler; many great grandchildren; nieces, Penny and Samantha Bearheart; nephews, Brian and Robert Bearheart; and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM (visitation will take place in Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 5:00 PM) at the St. Croix Tribal Culture Building in Hertel, WI with Francis Songetay officiating. Pallbearers are Robert “Bob” Bearheart Sr., Brian “Boy” Bearheart Sr., Tim Hart, Thomas Nelson, Larry Larson Jr., and Ken “Lucky” Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Merrill, Trey Nelson, Wesley Bearheart, and Michael Bearheart.
Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
