In Memory of Delores E. Curtis
Delores “Dee” (Amundson) Curtis, age 91, of Grantsburg, WI received her angel wings on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Dee spent her final years in Prairie Farm, WI.
She was born September 26, 1931, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Saugstad) Amundson and was raised in Prairie Farm.
Dee worked at Northern States Power Company in St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN until her retirement in 1984. She worshipped the Lord at Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg and enjoyed being an active member in the community. Dee took every opportunity to pass on her love for wildlife, especially birds and deer. She was quick to listen and eager to talk. Dee dedicated her time to enjoying water aerobics, strolling through Crex Meadow and meeting friends for bowling or golfing. She enjoyed every moment with friends and family and enjoyed life to its fullest. Dee had an infectious love for life, was always ready with a joke, and would never pass up the opportunity to enjoy a Brandy cocktail. Dee felt life was better with a trusted canine companion by her side. Her love for dogs was evident by the nose prints on her windows and the dog treats by her chair. These fur babies were her true pride and joy in life.
Her siblings were Gerald, Vern (Evie), Ozzie and Ardella (Edward), who have all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two stepsons: Jeff (Ann) Curtis and Steve (Trish) Curtis, grandchildren and sisters-in-law: Josie and Pat Amundson. She also had a special bond with her nieces, Mary and Margie. Dee is leaving behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Dee’s life will be held on Sunday, December 4 at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sara Feld officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Vanceburg Cemetery in the Town of Sheridan, rural Prairie Farm.
Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
