In Memory of Debra L. Chesson


July 4, 1956 - November 1, 2023

Debra Louise Chesson Age 67, of Rice Lake, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Barron Care and Rehab in the company of her daughter and mother.

Debra was born on July 4, 1956 in Superior, WI to Richard and Charlotte (Trentor) Young.

She married her first husband, William Jondreau on March 3, 1974, with whom she had two children, Christina and Steven. Then 10 years later they adopted Ryan from Hong Kong. After 23 years Debra and William divorced and shortly after she met her second husband, Graham Mather, and moved to Derbyshire England where she married and lived with him and his children for 5 years before moving back to the United States to Onalaska, Texas to live with her sister, Karen and brother-in-law, Cory. Debra met Mark Chesson who she would go to marry on August 16, 2010 and he later preceded her in death. She loved listening to music, enjoyed reading and she cherished her family and friends. Debra will be remembered for her willingness and generosity to help others.

She is survived by 4 children, Ryan (Liz) Jondreau, Christina (Del) Reece, Steven (Kim) Jondreau and Misty Chesson (Robert Auringer); 14 grandchildren, Brittany, Katelyn, Melissa, Ethan, Jonathen, Christopher, Tristan, Kevin, Luis, Mason, Clayton, Austin, Kaden and Steven Jr.; 3 great grandchildren, Jaxon, Matt and Kenny; 3 sisters, Cheryl Young, Karen (Cory) Patrick and Donna Young; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Chesson in 2015 and her father, Richard Young in 2005. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in Superior, WI.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements. The family would like to thank Barron Care and Rehab, Moments Hospice, the Dr’s at Marshfield Clinic and Davita Dialysis for all the wonderful care they gave to Debra.
