In Memory of David S. Crotteau


June 5, 1955 - March 21, 2023

David Scott Crotteau Age 67, of Rice Lake, WI, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center Rice Lake.

He was born on June 5, 1955 in Rice Lake to Robert and Diane (Nelson) Crotteau.

David graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1973 and was recruited to UW Madison for playing football and then transferred to UW LaCrosse graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration. Dave worked as a recreation director of corrections at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth, WI and then became a probation/parole officer for the State of Wisconsin. Dave was married to Ginger Labbe DeLawyer on October 20, 2005. He loved going to all high school sporting events in which he was a true Warrior fan and was inducted into the Rice Lake Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. Dave enjoyed cooking, riding his lawnmower with his shirt off, having lunches with the guys and being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger Crotteau; a son, RJ Crotteau (Emma Swan); 3 stepchildren, Jess (Brian) Levandowski, Casey (Amanda) DeLawyer and Gary (Jill) DeLawyer; 7 step grandchildren; 3 brothers, Mike (Doreen), Randy (Joanne) and Jay (Wendy) Crotteau; 2 sisters, Cindy (Nick) Bever and Penny (Gary) Hanson; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Diane Crotteau.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements.
