In Memory of Darrell J. Kelley Sr.


January 16, 1940 - May 17, 2024

Darrell Kelley Sr., born on January 16, 1940, in St. Paul, MN, passed away on May 17, 2024, in Holmen, WI with family by his side. He was a dedicated employee who worked for Burlington Northern Railroad. Darrell was a man of many hobbies, including fishing and collecting Budweiser and Coca Cola memorabilia and watching his Minnesota Vikings. He was known for his knack for always winning at checkers, corn hole and horseshoes and loved his Friday fish fry and had a soft spot for animals. Darrell cherished spending time with his family, especially his supper dates with his granddaughter Jadyn.

Described as selfless, quiet, and fun to be around, Darrell had a great sense of humor that endeared him to many.

Darrell was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Carol Kelley; mother and father; sister, Pat Maylone; brothers, Dennis and Jack Kelley.

He is survived by his daughter, Jodie Kelley Galaska (Paul); son, Darrell Kelley Jr.; and granddaughter, Jadyn Galaska; as well as his sisters, Joan (Jim) Glubka and Jean Rues (Bernie/deceased); brother, Lauren (Sandy) Kelley; and nieces and nephews.

He will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Please join us for a celebration of his life on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM (visitation from 1-2pm) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Siren, WI with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Burial will follow at the Siren Lakeview Cemetery. We encourage you to wear what you like but would love to see Vikings apparel, or his go to outfit of white/grey t-shirt and jeans, or button up shirt and of course his blue hanky and a hat.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home.
