In Memory of Darlene L. Hart
Darlene Lynell Hart, 58, of Cumberland passed unexpectedly on Thursday, June 13, 2024. She was born July 6, 1965 in Cumberland, WI to Eugene and Patsy (Kasabin) Hart Sr.
Darlene was an avid artisan; she made many quilts, beaded medallions, all sizes of moccasins, and beaded regalia. She loved spending time at the casino with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting agates and spending time in nature. She was loved by many as “Dar the Star.”
She is survived by children: Rosemarie Hart, Nathan Hart, and Lucy Hart; several grandchildren; sisters, Victoria Estebo of Cumberland, Christina Hart of Cumberland, and Claudia Matrious of Danbury; brothers, Eugene (Denise) Hart, Jr. of Cumberland and Thomas Hart of Mille Lacs; aunts: Hazel Hindsley, Joyce Long, and Georgette Garvin; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Stephanie Hart, Andrea Hart; nieces: Simone Hart and Wendy Jo Merrill; nephew, Jackson Merrill.
Funeral services will be held at Monday, June 17, 2024, at Maple Plain Tribal Center, rural Cumberland with Vince Merrill officiating. Burial will be in Maple Plain Reserve Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Estebo Jr., Aaron Hart, Andrew Hart, Antonio Hart, Mauricio Hart, James Merrill, Steven Mallory, and Lamont Belisle. Honorary pallbearers are Erik Whiterabbit, Cael Youngbear, William Merrill, Rodney Mallory, William Hindsley, Keith Hopinka, Michael Homesky, Justin Lemieux.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM Sunday until the time of the service on Monday at the tribal center. The feast will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday.
