In Memory of Darcel J. Hafele


November 17, 1955 - August 18, 2024

Darcel Jean (Roemhild) Hafele, age 68, of Ridgeland passed away on August 18, 2024 at her home under the care of her family and Mayo Hospice.

She was born November 17,1955 to Alton and Jean (Olson) Roemhild and raised on the family farm south of Prairie Farm. She graduated in 1973 from Prairie Farm High School as salutatorian. She went on to work for over 36 years at UW-Stout primarily in the purchasing department.

She was married on September 25, 1982 to Tim Hafele at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm. They welcomed their daughter Kristin, in 1984.

Darcy was active in her church and was an active volunteer at the Prairie Farm/Ridgeland Food Pantry. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, baking, wood carving, and quilting.

Darcy is survived by her husband, Tim; daughter, Kristin (Chad) Chadwick of Eagletown, OK; grandchildren, Cadence and Ryder Chadwick also of Eagletown, Ok; sister, Kris (Mike) Broten of Prairie Farm; brothers, Kevin (Linda) Roemhild of Mojave Valley, AZ, Jeff (Mary) Roemhild of Boyceville, and Scott (Renee) Roemhild of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Janice Roemhild of Prairie Farm; brothers-in-law, Dennis Neck of Deer Park and Michael (Pat) Hafele of Amery; nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randy Roemhild; mother and father-in-law, Walt and Hazel Hafele; sister-in-law, Rosemary Neck; and nephew, Timothy Michael Neck.

A memorial service will be held at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm on Friday, August 23 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Sara Feld officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, August 22 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and one hour before the service on Friday. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in the Township of Prairie Farm at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
