In Memory of Danya L. Dullinger


March 8, 1979 - July 12, 2023

Dayna Dullinger, age 44, a lifelong resident of Hayward, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Miller-Dwan Medical Center in Duluth.

Dayna was born on March 8, 1979, in Hayward, and attended the Hayward Schools.

After High School, she served in the Army National Guard for a brief time before attending Mount Senario College where she earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in education with emphasis in Pre-K through 6th grade. She taught Pre-K at Tall Oaks Child Care near Hayward for several years. Currently, she had been working as the Senior Guest Service Manager at MarketPlace Foods, where she has worked for over 15 years. On April 17, 2004, she was united in marriage to Erik Dullinger at St. Francis de Sales Church in Spooner. Dayna was a Town of Stinnett Supervisor, Trustee for the Earl Cemetery, Coach for the Hayward High School Color Guard, and was Secretary of the Hayward Community Choir. Dayna loved camping, genealogy, scrapbooking, hunting/ fishing, reading and spending time with her family.

Dayna is survived by her husband Erik of Hayward, parents Sandy (Tom) Johnson of Springbrook, sister Rebecca Stone of Coppell, TX, mother-in-law Rosaleen Dullinger of Trego, sister-in-law Tanya (Raymond) Riehle of Wausau, WI, 4 nieces: Katie, Gabby, Susie, and Vicky, and 2 nephews Luke and Jake.

Dayna is preceded in death by her grandparents Margie Johnson, Claude and Annette Carlson, Nick and Marie Dullinger, Roman and Emma Bauer, and her father-in-law Albert Dullinger.

Funeral services for Dayna Dullinger will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at noon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayward with Fr. David Neuschwander as Celebrant.

Visitation will be at the Church on Friday from 10 until noon.

Interment will be at the Earl Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Chris Draganowski, Steve Koel, Larry Metcalf Sr., Jonathan Moore, Raymond Riehle, and Kevin Scharhag.
