In Memory of Daniel A. Newman
Daniel A. Newman (Art), age 53 of Osceola, WI, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on July 21, 2022.
Dan was born on June 19, 1969 to Donald and Diane Newman in St. Croix Falls, WI.
He grew up in Star Prairie and attended Osceola Schools graduating in 1987. He then attended UW-Eau Claire earning a BS in accounting in 1991. In August of 1991 Dan married his high school sweetheart, Kelli Brunclik at Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser, WI. Together they reared two beautiful daughters, Kaija and Mattie.
Dan worked as a controller in the manufacturing industry for his entire career including sixteen years at Hartzel/Sanmina in Turtle Lake, WI and most recently at Dynamic Air Inc. in St. Paul, MN.
Dan was an avid hunter and fisherman passing along his love of the outdoors to his partners in crime, Kaija and Mattie. He was also fortunate to share these passions with his Grandpa, brothers, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, and father-in-law.
Growing up on a dairy farm, Dan was taught the value of hard work and he in turn shared that passion with his family, helping his daughters with their 4-H projects and continuing to support Kaija in her beef operation. He was “at home” when he was on a tractor.
Dan was a master problem solver using his expertise to create everything from furniture and home decor to pig ramps for 4-H. He was also an expert at packing with an amazing spatial mind.
Family was the focus of Dan’s life. He had an easy smile, a hearty laugh, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Dan loved hosting fish fries and was a master at filleting fish and frying them to perfection. He was also fond of pulling a good joke and had an easy-going spirit. Dan was generous with his time and talent and if he could offer a solution or a helping hand he certainly would.
Dan is preceded in death by his father, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Kelli, daughters, Kaija and Mattie; mother, Diane Newman, sister Gail (Bob) Peterson, brothers, Paul (Theresa), Michael (Sandra), Scott, David (Diana), Jeffrey (Sarah), John (Kendra), and Bradley (Allyson); mother-in-law, Fern Brunclik, father-in-law Gary Brunclik (Darcy), brother-in-law Craig (Pam) Brunclik; many relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Polk County 4-H, The Polk County Fair Society, Osceola Fire and Rescue, or Osceola Area Ambulance Service.
