In Memory of Dale O. Evenson


October 6, 1942 - June 5, 2023

Dale Otto Evenson, 80, of Rice Lake died, June 5, 2023, peacefully at his home just as he had wanted.

He was born October 6, 1942, in Mauston, WI to Lloyd and Myra (Johnson) Evenson.

Dale started working in the telecommunications industry in 1963 in Hudson, and then the Turtle Lake telephone company from 1977-2004 He cherished the years on the farm in Spring Valley with their young sons.

He volunteered at the Moon Lake Threshing Bee, the Cameron Pioneer Village Museum, and as a Volunteer Fire Fighter on the Turtle Lake Fire Department for 20+ years.

Dale loved spending time in the woods, feeding the birds and CATS, and going hunting with his boys. Anytime he had a cup of coffee in hand, he was a happy camper. Over the past five years, Dale has found comfort and peace in trusting God’s word and purpose.

He is survived by wife, Carol; children: Chad (Sabrina) Evenson, and Wade (Rebecca) Evenson; grandchildren: Amber, Will, and Russell Evenson; great grandchildren: Lenora and Henry; siblings: Marlys Orf, Sue Hopkins, and Vernon Evenson; many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Lloyd and Myra; son, Rodney; second wife, Sandy; granddaughter, Kayla; and sister, Lois.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake. Burial services for Dale Evenson and his sister, Lois Weber, will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Turtle Lake. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 AM.

Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland/ Turtle Lake is serving the family.
