In Memory of Charlotte C. Wintrone


February 15, 1924 - December 7, 2022

Charlotte Clarice Milliser Paulson Ebert Wintrone, age 98, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 in Madison, Wisconsin.

She was born on February 15, 1924 in Barron. She was the youngest daughter of Milo and Alice Mae (Heffner) Milliser.

Her siblings were Linnie (Flannery), Bernice (Drolson) and Dorothy (Schloss). Her mother died when she was 14 months old. She moved to Milwaukee with her dad and family when she was was 3 years old, with her older sister, Bernice, becoming a mother figure to her. The family moved back to Barron when she was 6.

She lived in Barron with her sister, Bernice and her husband, Orlan until they moved when she was about to be a senior in high school; so she and a friend boarded together during their senior year in Barron for 50 cents a week until she graduated from Barron High School in 1941 as president of the Student Council and Vice President of her graduating class. She loved band and played clarinet.

She married Gordon K. Paulson in Barron on August 28, 1943 at the Old Methodist Church in Barron in a candlelight service. The marriage was blessed with 5 children, Gloria (Mark) Dobberfuhl of Barron, Connie (Glen) Ishibashi of Park City UT, Robert (Bonnie) of Corpus Christi, TX, Cindy LaPoint, of Madison, and Thomas (Laurie) of Plainfield, IL; 14 grandchildren, Michael, Doug, Phil, Jennifer, Matt and Angie Dobberfuhl; Jay, Wade and Craig Paulson; Andrew and Sarah Swant; and Ben, Tim, and Jake Paulson; 25 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great- grandchildren.

She raised her family in Barron, where Gordon was a contractor and Charlotte for several years worked at Barron High School and Barron County Abstract. She was active in the community, being a 4H leader, Cub Scout leader, Brownie leader and the United Methodist Youth Fellowship leader.

She always welcomed everyone and loved playing bridge and socializing. They moved to Madison in 1975, where they managed large apartment buildings. She was an avid fan of the Badgers and Packers, and active in the Friendship Force. She loved to entertain and be surrounded by family.

Her husband, Gordon died on February 18, 1982 and Charlotte continued managing apartment complexes until she married Charles W. Ebert on June 30, 1990. They were married for 11 years until he died on June 28, 2001. After 4 years, she married her school chum, Seymour Wintrone, on October 23, 2004. They were married 10 years until his death on August 7, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Connie; grandson, Michael; and 3 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Barron with visitation from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at the church. She will be buried at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
