In Memory of Charles Brown IV
Charles W. Brown, age 87, of Hayward, WI passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at his home.
Charles William Brown was born January 27, 1934 in St. Paul, MN the son of Charles and Harriet (Kustelski) Brown III.
Charles was raised in St. Paul and graduated from high school there. On March 18, 1954 Charles was joined in marriage to Joan Jacobson in Iowa. Charles and Joan settled in Columbia Heights, MN and he worked in various businesses through the years. Charles went back to school and attended Anoka Technical School. After his schooling he went to work at a resin manufacturing plant. Charles retired and moved to Hayward, WI in 1999 and moved into their dream home on the Chippewa Flowage. Charles was an avid fisherman and loved getting out on the boat. Throughout his life he also enjoyed staying fit and working out. He had run several marathons and was a boxer in his younger years. He was a member of Northern Lights Christian Center in Hayward.
Charles is survived by his four children, David Brown of Hastings, MN, Pearl (Mike) Kush of St. Paul, MN, John Ewer of Blain, MN and Scott Brown; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (Paul) Sachwitz, Kathy (Chuck) Settle; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog Wolfy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan and one brother, Ron Brown.
A memorial service will be held for Charles at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Northern Lights Christian Center in Hayward, WI with Pastor Tim Warner officiating. A time of gathering with family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
