In Memory of Cecil R. Kippenhan
Cecil Robert Kippenhan Age 93, of Cameron, WI, died Monday, September 25, 2023 in Chetek, WI.
He was born on August 23, 1930 in Loyal, WI to Arthur and Lucille (Stammer) Kippenhan.
Cecil graduated from Loyal High School and then entered the United States Army and served during the Korean conflict and was Honorably Discharged. Cecil was married to Audrey Peterson in 1990 in Colfax, WI. He later attended Vocational School for a year. Cecil worked for Uniroyal for over 38 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rice Lake, Rice Lake Moose Lodge and an officer in the Barron County Democratic Party. Cecil enjoyed card playing, fishing, hunting, wood cutting, gardening, dancing and watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Colfax Girls Basketball team.
He is survived by 3 children, Bob Hyatt, Nancy Kippenhan and Dan (Judy) Kippenhan; 2 stepdaughters, Cindy (Dan) Ziegler and Nancy (Rick) Hainstock; his significant other, Marlene Raether and her family; 17 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Sollecito; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Kippenhan; parents, Arthur and Lucille Kippenhan; 2 brothers Kenny and Bill Kippenhan; a sister, Janet VanAsten; and 4 stepchildren, Larry Peterson, Robert Peterson, William Peterson and Lynn Murray.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, October 9, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Rice Lake, with Rev. Jess De Los Santos officiating, with a private interment in the Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax, WI at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM at the First United Methodist Church on October 9. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is serving the family with the arrangements.
