Carolyn Lee Kasch, 93, longtime resident of Winter passed away on March 18, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Carolyn was born August 27, 1927 in Big Spring, Texas to parents Tom Wallace Cantrell and Lota Madeline (Gary) Cantrell. As a child she enjoyed going to Western movies at the theatre on Saturday with her grandfather and caring for her pets – a cat named Bob and a dog named Dusty. Carolyn graduated from Big Spring High School and then worked for the State National Bank of Big Spring. It was there that she became reacquainted with Paul Eugene Kasch when he conducted business at the bank. Paul had been away for college at Southern Methodist University and serving in the Air Force during WWII. Carolyn and Paul married on January 30, 1949. After marriage, Paul continued work at his family’s owned construction business with Carolyn being a homemaker and mother to three children: Nancy Lee, Paul Thomas and Jerry Wayne. When Paul retired, he moved the family from Texas to Clearbrook in northern Minnesota where he farmed for several years and then on to fully retire in rural Winter area by Hunter Lake. After Paul passed away in 1990 Carolyn moved to the Town of Winter. There she attended the First Presbyterian Church and in later years enjoyed reading books, solving word puzzles and keeping a daily journal. Carolyn continued to live in Winter until recently moving in 2017 to Care and Rehab of Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (David) Griffith of Sagerton, Texas, son Paul (Pam) Kasch of Morris Plains, New Jersey and son Jerry (Sandra) Kasch of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren: John (Heather) Griffith, Mathew Griffith, Kylene (Daniel) Cortorreal, Kara (Robert) Kelly, Jenilee and Sherilyn Kasch; six great grandchildren: Luke, Meghan and Patrick Griffith, Kayla Kasch, and Dayne and Kassius Cortorreal.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and grandson Paul Nicholas Kasch.

The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Pastor Rob Biller will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Friday, March 26th , prior to the service, at the funeral home. Live stream will be available for those unable to attend.
