In Memory of Carolie J. Gubasta

February 28, 1943 - October 22, 2022

Carolie Jeanne Gubasta, age 79, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from complications of a stroke.

She was born on February 28, 1943 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Pete and Evelyn Peterson. She lived in Dresser, Wisconsin most of her life and spent the last 6 years in Apple Valley, Minnesota.

Carolie graduated from St. Croix Falls High School in 1961. She loved music and played the accordion, piano and was an organist at church for many years. Many special memories were made living and working at her mother’s restaurant, the Eve-Lon Café. Carolie was always good with numbers and retired as a Financial Advisor from the St. Croix Falls School District in 2009 and volunteered at the St. Croix Falls Hospital.

Carolie loved spending time at the cabin, camping and going on family trips to Florida. She enjoyed going out to eat, car rides and looking at the beautiful fall leaves, playing cards with friends, reading and going to the movies.

What she will most be remembered for is how special she made everyone feel. Carolie was one of a kind. She loved deeply, cared deeply and left everyone who knew her with wonderful memories. Carolie was always willing to help others and had an unforgettable sense of humor. Her laugh was infectious and she gave the best hugs.

Carolie was married to Herman Gubasta who passed away in 2004, and together, they raised three children. She is survived by her children Michele (Neal), Mark (Brianna), Lisa (Troy), 12 grandchildren Danielle (Jeff), Jordan (Michael), Shae, Paige, Kylie, Gabby, Chloe (Jamie), Haley (Austin), Mara (Jesse), Paige, Chaise, Dane and 2 great grandchildren Luca and Alma, sister Judy (Phil), nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.

To know Carolie was to love her. She was the best mom and grandma our family could’ve asked for. She will be missed.
