In Memory of Carole Lord
Carole Joan Lord, age 67, a resident of Danbury, WI, passed away on January 3, 2022 in Spooner, WI.
Carole was born on December 28, 1954 in St. Paul, MN to parents, Walter and Eileen Marshall.
Carole graduated from Saint Bernard's High School in 1972 and went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota in 1977. Her favorite teacher Mrs. O'Grady always said, "Variety is the spice of life." Carole worked at many jobs during her life including The Bridge for Runaway Youth, Tri House, Midway Bank, Mandan Social Services, and DRC.
Carole was first married to Larry Krall in 1986 and they had 2 children. Larry passed away in 1993 and she moved to Cottage Grove, MN. She got remarried to Richard Lord on September 10th, 2009 in Roseville, MN and they eventually retired to Danbury, WI together.
Carole’s hobbies included reading, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. She was an extremely generous person who always opened her heart and home to others in need. Carole struggled for many years with Crohn's disease, but she remained a cheerful person who spread kindness wherever she went.
Carole is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved grandmother Mathilda Patient who raised her, her Uncle Earl and Aunt Anne Patient, her sister Judy Krefft, and her wonderful first husband Larry Krall.
She is survived by her amazing and loving husband, Richard "Bud" Lord; cherished daughter, Julie Krall; her son Joshua Krall, her daughter-in-law Andrea Mabry, and grandson Jonah Mabry; her cousins and their wives Bill and Annette Patient (and their children Brian and Lauren), Bob and Rebecca Patient, and Prometheus Patient; her nieces Donna Kreftt Cheney (and her family) and Laura Krefft; and her extremely close lifelong friends Joan Felion and her family, and Jamie Broos and her family; and finally, all of her "children" that she gained during her life including Sebastien Vautier, Lionel Ducat, Kate Corpron, Mae Burrell, Ashley Monahan, Jake Larsen, Kelsey Moga, Andy, Tom, Tiffany, Santiago, Rosa, and many others.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sharing and Caring Hands or Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm (visitation from 1:00 -2:00 pm) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster with Pastor Bridget Case officiating.
