In Memory of Carol Seabrook

April 29, 1931 - October 9, 2023

Jean Seabrook, 92, of Cumberland passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023, surrounded by her family at Care and Rehab of Cumberland.

She was born on April 29, 1931, in Turtle Lake, WI to Stephen and Esther (Young) Jansen. She was married on June 6, 1949, to her loving husband Everett Hillman Seabrook who preceded her in death on December 17, 2001.

Jean was devoted to her husband and family. She followed Everett, a bridge engineer for United States Steel, to many distant locations far from her Cumberland hometown. With family in tow, they lived in Lisbon Portugal, Everett Washington, Libby Montana, Oakdale California and Los Angeles, to name a few. She never missed a day of rising early with him to see him off to work and set about the day in the loving care of her three children, Jan, Jim and Jeff. Jean was also the Prom Queen of Cumberland High School and was the lead trombone player in the band. She was beautiful on the outside but had an even more beautiful heart and soul. Each of her children and grandchildren felt her genuine love and affection whenever they were in her presence. She had an amazing gift of sharing herself, her experiences and life knowledge to all those she left behind and who will carry those memories always. She cherished her “5:00 Happy Hour” with family and friends. Her meticulous care for her home and everything surrounding led to her much-earned moniker of “Clean Jean”. She will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Jan Seabrook; her sister Barb (Allen) Carlson; her brother in-law Darrell (Pete) Peterson; and her sister in-law Mary Jane (DeDominces) Jansen. She is survived by her sons Jim (Lori Ficocello) and Jeff (Sandra) Seabrook; her brother Steve (Mary) Jansen and sister Dianne (Pete) Peterson; grandchildren Nicole (Matt) LeStange; Kris (Jamie) Seabrook; Ryan (Bre) Seabrook; Kelsey (Jeremy) Ecks; Jeffrey Ray and Jennifer (Jimmy) Hoong; great-grandchildren, Lennon, Lincoln, Kassidy, Kaden, Kole, Hayley, Scarlett, Logan, Dex Everett and Lauren.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on October 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.

Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.
