In Memory of Carol M. LaBarre

December 18, 1939 - November 8, 2022

Carol Mae LaBarre, age 82, of Hayward, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

She was born on December 18, 1939, in Hayward, WI, the daughter of Casper and Dorothy (Featherly) Tart. She was united in marriage to Robert Allen LaBarre on June 14, 1958, in Hayward.

Carol was born and raised in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School. In 1957, she was crowned as Hayward’s Musky Queen. She raised her family in the same home she grew up in on Round Lake. Carol enjoyed travelling with her husband to auctions to hunt for antiques and collectables and ran her own business for several years selling and trading antiques. She and Robert loved to make the rounds to the various Supper Clubs that once were abundant around the area. After her husband’s passing, Carol helped her son, Rob, with secretarial work for his company, LaBarre Plumbing. She took a lot of pride in her home and gardens and especially loved flower gardening. She loved going to Jake and Jonah’s baseball games and talking with them about the Brewers. Carol was a devout Catholic and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Shivawn LaBarre of Hayward, Robert “Rob” (Karri) LaBarre of Hayward, and Erin (Bill) Sande of Hayward; her grandchildren, Ben (Ashley) LaBarre, Cord LaBarre, Alec LaBarre, Jacob (Anna) Sande, and Jonah Sande; two great-granddaughters, Bella and Ellie LaBarre; her sister, Martha Haugen of Hayward; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Allen LaBarre Sr.; and her siblings, Prudy Hanson, Charles “Skip” Tart, and Judy Bates.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 18, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10586 Dakota Avenue in Hayward, where visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of Mass. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
