Carol Lou Olson, age 83, of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Carol was born on December 4, 1940 in Range, Wisconsin to Warren and Elsie (Wendt) McKinstry. She grew up and attended school in Amery, graduating from Amery High School. Carol met Darryl Olson and they were married on April 30, 1966 in Deer Park. They made their home in Deer Park where they raised their son James. In 1986, they sold their home to their son James and moved in between Deer Park and New Richmond. Darryl passed away in 2001, and Carol moved back to Deer Park where she made her home until moving to Willow Ridge Healthcare 4 ½ years ago.

While living at home, Carol loved being outside and taking care of her yard—and helping others too. She loved cooking, and her cooking and baking skills were evident in her brownies, which everyone loved. Carol also enjoyed word search games and loved watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darryl; and sisters, Geraldine Olin and Joanne McKinstry. She is survived by her son, James Olson.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, Wisconsin. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park, Wisconsin.
