In Memory of Carol A. Rumrill

December 15, 1941 - February 19, 2024

Carol Ann Rumrill, age 82, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Cambridge Senior Living in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. She went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a battle with lung cancer.

Carol was born on December 15,1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Earl and Georgiana (Hawkins) Lamparske. The oldest of five children, she grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota. Carol graduated from high school with honors in 1959. Throughout her life, she had a thirst for knowledge and a fervor for reading books. She loved to study various topics, especially those relating to medicine.

Carol met and married Ernest Linden in 1960. They had five children and started a used car lot in Shafer, Minnesota. During this time, Carol took on the role of bookkeeper for the family business. She was also a dedicated homemaker, taking pride in making delicious homemade meals from scratch. She devoted her life to raising her four children. Often, their weekends were spent smelting, blueberry picking, and boating on the St. Croix River.

Years later, she met her second husband, Walter Rumrill, and they were united in marriage on February 7, 1988. Wally was newly retired from the United States Navy, and, together, they embarked on a new chapter of life. Wally and Carol travelled around the United States full-time in their beloved RV. They made many friends and fond memories while living in Texas, Wisconsin, and Missouri.

A skilled and tasteful decorator, Carol displayed her creativity and talent in each of her lovely homes and in her beautiful flower gardens. As a matter of fact, Carol and Wally designed and built a stunning log home in Branson, Missouri that was even featured in a local newspaper.

Throughout their time together, Carol and Wally spent cherished moments travelling, attending bluegrass festivals, riding bicycles, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time beside the water. In later years, they moved back to Hayward, Wisconsin to be near their family.

Carol became a born-again believer in Jesus Christ while living in Texas. From that time on, she grew in her passion for Jesus and the Scriptures. When back in Hayward, she enjoyed reading Scripture and singing in church.

She will be remembered as a classy lady who leaves an impression on all who meet her. Her first-born daughter, Jeanette wants all to know how much she loved her mom and will miss their long talks. She will be forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Rumrill; her children, Jeanette Linden, Trent (Laurie) Linden, Ty (Tami) Linden, and Mona (Dale) Moen; and her grandchildren, Alicia (Mitch) Van Blaricom, Brent (fiancee', Jamie Langan) Moen, Ashley Linden, and Emily (Isaac) Karpenske and sister, Linda.

In addition to her parents, two brothers, Larry and Gary, and sister, Lois, Carol is preceded in death by her first husband, Ernie Linden, and infant daughter, Lona Jane.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Trego Community Church. Interment will follow at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
