Bruce Matthew Tate Age 75, of Rice Lake, WI, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 17, 1947 in Blue Island, Illinois to James and Elenore (Luscomb) Tate.

Bruce graduated from Blue Island High School and then graduated from Mount Senario in Ladysmith, WI with a degree in Sociology. He was married to Sheila Whetsel on March 7, 1986 in Barron, WI.

Bruce worked for Birchwood Lumber and Veneer in Birchwood, WI for many years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Tate; 2 stepdaughters, Melinda (Tracey) Zurn and Valarie (Richard) Rouse; 8 stepgrandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; a sister, Karen Tate; sister-in-law, Martha Tate; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Tate.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements.
