In Memory of Briana Korthof


August 27, 1993 - February 10, 2023

Briana Korthof, age 29, a resident of Spooner, died on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire after a sudden illness.

Briana was born on August 27, 1993, in Shell Lake, to parents Zane and Debra (Warzel) Korthof.

She graduated from the Spooner Area School District in 2011. Growing up, she spent many summer days at the family lake lot on Spring Lake, participated in the Washburn County 4-H Horse Project and worked several summers at Hay Lake Ranch as a trail guide. After school, she managed the Trego Subway and worked at Lipsie Pines and Riverbend. She was a current student at Northwood Tech in Rice Lake in the nursing program. She loved to travel and went on annual trips out west with her sister Whitney and Grandpa Alan to visit National Parks and also took yearly trips with her boyfriend, Tyler, to Las Vegas and to visit her father in Bullhead City, AZ.

In May of 2021, she became a mother to her and Tyler’s daughter, Monroe Debra Olsen. She was the proudest mama. Her and Tyler purchased their first house and have been working on making a home for their little family.

Briana is survived by her boyfriend Tyler Olsen, their daughter Monroe Debra Olsen, father Zane Korthof, sister Whitney (Nate Melgaard) Korthof, brother Jeremiah Korthof and several cousins and other extended family.

Briana is preceded in death by her mother Debra, grandfathers Alan Korthof and Bud Mann, grandmother Pat Mann, and grandparents Walter and Eleanor Warzel.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at the Spooner

Funeral Home from 3-6pm. A Celebration of Briana’s life will follow at Lipsie Pines, on Friday, starting at 7pm. A spring interment is planned at the Earl Cemetery.
