In Memory of Brian K. Hyllengren II


June 5, 1972 - July 25, 2024

Brian Kenneth Hyllengren II, age 52, of Hidden Valley Lake, Indiana, passed away on July 25, 2024, in Stockborn, Germany.

He was born on June 5, 1972, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Brian proudly served his country from 2010 until his passing as a Master Sergeant in the Air Guard. He worked as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst and Mission Intelligence Coordinator. He was recently stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where he played a vital role in coordinating multi-national training. In addition to his career with the Air Guard, Brian was involved in funeral service, public safety, insurance adjustment, and real estate. In the early 1990’s he worked with the Rice Lake and Cloquet fire departments. He later worked in Ohio as a police officer and detective for both Green Township and Miami University. More recently he enjoyed working in real estate and insurance adjustment. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1999. Brian was an avid traveler and hiker, finding great joy in exploring the Smoky Mountains National Park and other national parks throughout the country. He also had a deep love for bulldogs and was the proud owner and caretaker of five. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Tonia, and his son, Ashton.

He will be dearly missed by his mother, Julie Nivarel, father, Brian Hyllengren I (Nancy), and his siblings: Austin Nivarel (Samantha), Laura Lorentz (Benjamin Bass), Aubrey Lorentz, Scott Nivarel, Sarah Baldridge, Loni Sempf (Joe), Rob Nivarel (Micah), Carrie Sterns (Joe), and Dana Hyllengren (John Stobbs). Brian's memory will be cherished by his extended family, friends, and all who knew him.

His unique sense of humor and dedication to his family left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

A private celebration of life service will be held at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI. In remembrance of Brian’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Fisher House Foundation which helps military families in times of distress. https://fisherhouse.org
