In Memory of Bob J. Linder
Robert James “Bob” Linder, 67, of Cumberland died, October 13, 2022, at Cumberland Healthcare.
He was born December 22, 1954, in Rice Lake, WI to James and Alberta (Schulte) Linder. Bob was raised in Cumberland and graduated in 1973 from Cumberland High School.
He married Melinda Matton in 1985, and together they had Dustin and Mandi. He later married Susan (Ricci) Conkey on September 17, 1994.
Bob worked as a butcher for many years and for 17 years was the meat manager at Austad’s (Becker’s). He took great pride in his profession. In the past month, Bob had been getting back into the trade by working at Bona Casa.
He enjoyed music and was a talented drummer. He got to be apart of several bands as their drummer. In his free time, Bob would have been found trout fishing, golfing, or on an adventure off the beaten path. He loved to watch Badger and Packer games; his ‘secret’ love was rooting for the Cowboys (not sure why). Bob’s dry sense of humor will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Linder; children: Dustin (Erin) Linder, Mandi (fiancé Jordon Thome) Linder, Mike (Anne) Conkey, and Katie Conkey; grandchildren: Axel, Eddie, Levi, and Evalyn; mother, Alberta Linder; siblings: Darlene (Dave Bailey) Linder, Mary (Tom Diemert) Linder, and Sue (Greg) Kuhn; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Jim Linder; and sister, Dr. Frances Kaye Linder Lang.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 17, 2022, at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland with Deacon Greg Ricci officiating. Burial will be in St Anthony Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.
