In Memory of Betty L. Gloldosky


June 25, 1937 - January 8, 2025

Betty L. Glodosky, 87 of Rural Hayward, WI passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center.

She was born June 25, 1937, in Chippewa Falls, WI to Henry and Catherine (Tanzer) Geissler and graduated from Chippewa Falls McDonnell High School. On August 3, 1957, she married Lowell Glodosky in Chippewa Falls and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage until Lowell’s passing on October 13, 2022.

Betty and Lowell lived in several places in Wisconsin including Chippewa Falls, Spring Green, Whitehall, Viroqua and Port Edwards. They retired to Spider Lake Township in the Northwoods of Wisconsin in 1993. where Betty was a longtime devoted member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Cable, WI.

Betty dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for others. As the proud mother of five children, she built a home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. She taught her children the value of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family.

Beyond her role as a mother, Betty worked as a nurse aide for Family Heritage Nursing Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, where she worked with compassion and dedication until her retirement. Her gentle touch and empathetic nature brought comfort to countless patients and their families.

When she wasn’t caring for others, Betty found joy in the pages of a good book and the beauty of the great outdoors. Camping trips, leisurely walks, and taking a drive through the countryside were among her favorite pastimes she shared with her cherished husband. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching the deer and birds visit her yard. She was also known by her children for her guilty pleasure of sitting on a bench people-watching while sipping a Moo-Latte. She loved the visits she received from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her five children; Scott of Cable, WI, John (Becky) of Evans, GA, Mike (Diane) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Tom (Maria) of La Crosse, WI and Ruth (David) Simms of Lawrenceburg, KY; grandchildren, Betsy Glodosky, Hank (Paula) Glodosky, Chris (Pam) Glodosky, Caroline (Ryan) Panure, Teresa (Tyler) Cina, Nick (Brittany) Glodosky and Peter (fiancée, Marissa Lyon) Glodosky; great-grandchildren, Lorelai and Jackson Glodosky, Caleb and Cassie Glodosky and Jack Panure; sister, Judy Bowe of Chippewa Falls; sisters-in-law, Sr. Muriel Glodosky, SND of Milwaukee, WI, Diane (Jim) Hickey of Chippewa Falls and Barb Arney of Stillwater, MN, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband Lowell, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hank “Sonny’ Geissler; sisters, Gloria Blum and Corrine “Sis” Lowe; sister-in-law, Dorothy Geissler; brothers-in-law, Norman Blum, Bob Lowe and Dave Bowe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16th at St. Ann Catholic Church, 13645 Co Hwy M, Cable, WI with Father David Neuschwander as Celebrant and Deacon Brian McCaffery as Homilist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Ann Catholic Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Though she may no longer walk among us, Betty’s spirit will forever guide and inspire those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
