In Memory of Betty J. Baumgart


March 21, 1925 - May 28, 2022

Betty Jane Baumgart, age 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Hayward Health Services in Hayward, WI.

She was born on March 21, 1925, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Oscar and Florence (Kartes) Fritsch.

She was united in marriage to John E. Baumgart.

Betty worked for A & P Grocery stores in Milwaukee and transferred with them to a store in Hayward. She also worked as a waitress for several fine dining establishments throughout the Hayward area. Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, tending to her flower gardens, and the peace she enjoyed at her home on Grindstone Lake. Most of all, she loved her family and celebrating holidays, birthdays, and attending family gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Duane (Jeannie) Baumgart of Moorehead, MN, Gwen Baumgart of Hayward, WI, Gregory (Zenice) Baumgart of Hayward, WI, and Carol (K.C. Smith) Tilleman of Hayward, WI; eleven grandchildren; Lawrence, Todd, Scott and Corey Baumgart, Rick and Jeff (Susie) Kipp, Holly (Stacy) Lindenfelser, Nick Baumgart, Angie (Tony) Tinucci, April (Trent) Johnson, and Brandy (Jim) Tilleman; great-grandchildren, Brody Baumgart, Jacob and Rylee Kipp, Jarrod and Addison Seidlitz, Mya Baumgart, Gia and Alex Tinucci, and Myles and Cole (Brianna) Waley; one great-great-grandchild, Wade Waley; a sister-in-law, Gloria Fritsch of Milwaukee, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Baumgart; her brothers, Gerald, Gilbert, and Lee Fritsch; her sister, Pat Lasswell; and her brother-in-law, Dawn Lasswell.

Betty will be laid to rest privately at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
