In Memory of Barbara L. Sundly


March 10, 1964 - March 24, 2024

On Sunday, March 24, 2024, Barbara “Barb” Lynn Sundly passed away peacefully in her sleep. She had just turned 60 years old. She was a resident of Hillsdale and was well -loved in her small town. Barb was a mother of two sons.

Barb was born on March 10, 1964, the youngest child of Gordon and Annie (Shone) Sundly. She grew up with family in her blood, and a love for all critters in her early teens. She moved out to Mudbrook where Gordy and Ann ran the girl scout camp and that’s where her love of horses began.

Barb graduated from New Auburn Class of 1982. She worked as a waitress for many years where she was well known, loved and followed by customers throughout her career. She had so many wonderful relationships with her customers who she considered as great friends throughout her career. She always prided herself on being a strong and independent woman. She was an excellent cook and party planner, always putting on a spread for her family and friends.

Barb met the love of her life, Ralph Feldhacker, whom she spoiled continuously. Together, they raised her sons, Drew and Brett on their farm. Barb loved everything about farm life. She had an impeccable green thumb and cherished her dahlias. She could nurse any sick critter back to being healthy.  She had a great love for hummingbirds and later in life, found her passion for mules.

She is survived by her sons, Drew and Brett (Mariah); grandchildren; her partner of 29 years, Ralph Feldhacker and lifetime best friend, Lisa Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Annie; as well as brothers, David and Gordon Jr.

A memorial service for Barb will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 1:00 at the funeral home before the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
