Jesus called Audrey Lois Robey home June 1, 2023.

She was born to Victor and Carol Gilbertson on July 25, 1929 at Ellsworth, WI.

She grew up in Beldenville, WI and cherished her time with her grandparents. Much to her dismay, she had to move to the Pierce County jail while attending high school (her dad was the sheriff). While on a youth group fishing trip, Audrey met Jim Robey. After Jim retrieved Audrey’s pole from the lake, they were hooked. They were married on May 24,1952 and had a great marriage for 65 years. They spent their first 59 years in Plum City, WI. Audrey loved people and caring for family and friends throughout her life. She did an incredible job caring for her patients during a 38 year career as a registered nurse. She loved baking cookies, bread, and caramel rolls(most of which she gave away). She enjoyed growing flowers and making arrangements for her home. She and Jim loved traveling and spent many years exploring destinations throughout the country. Audrey and Jim moved to Brentwood Senior Living in Rice Lake, WI in 2011. Audrey spent 10 wonderful years there still making cookies, bread, and caramel rolls for the tenants and the staff. Audrey spent her last year at Dove Healthcare in Rice Lake where she enjoyed many fun activities, visiting with staff from every department, making new friends, and watching her birds.

Audrey is survived by 2 sons, Rick(Rita Mae) Robey and Ron(Jenifer) Robey; a daughter, Rita Kay(Mike) Correll; 4 grandchildren, Jason(Athena Currier)and Jessica Robey, Jamie and Jon Correll; 2 sister-in-laws, Donna Gilbertson and Audrey Gilbertson; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Robey; 1 sister, Emily Gilbert; 2 brothers, Wayne and Dean Gilbertson; 2 sister-in-laws, Patsy Goehring and Phyllis Robey; 4 brother-in-laws, Carl Benson, Donald Robey, Harland Gilbertson, and Gordon Robey.

A funeral service will be held at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake on June 17 at 11:00 with visitation 1 hour prior. Memorials at family’s discretion.

Rick, Ron, and Rita would like to thank all the staff at Dove Healthcare so much for their excellent, kind, and loving care. You helped mom finish her race well. She loved you all.
