In Memory of Audrey J. Unterschuetz

August 28, 1935 - May 25, 2023

Audrey Jean (Hewitt) Unterschuetz, age 87, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on May 25, 2023, in Chetek, Wisconsin.

She was born to Lloyd and Mabel (Moe) Hewitt on August 28, 1935, in Sioux Creek Township, Wisconsin.

Audrey married her high school sweetheart, Frank Unterschuetz in 1954 at the Advent Christian Church in Chetek, Wisconsin.

Audrey loved life and people. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved a good water fight, pontoon ride around the Chetek Chain, playing cards, and meeting classmates for Wednesday morning breakfast. She never lost her love for adventure and would take a new road simply because she had “never been down that road before”. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards, decorating her many doll houses, making jewelry, and traveling.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mabel Hewitt, baby brother, Larry Hewitt, and great-granddaughter, Alexandra Terry.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Frank Unterschuetz, children, Frank (Gina) Unterschuetz, Tamera (Bob) Schutz, Cheryl Hewitt, as well as bonus children, Larry Gilbertson, and Brenda Rederer, grandchildren, Cory, Christy, Rebecca, Aaron, Elizabeth, Megan, Joshua, Taylor, Rick, Mark, David, Laura, Jimmy, William, Matthew, Cassie, Lance, and John, great-grandchildren, Cole, Tate, Jake, Dax, Avery, Auden, and Hollyn, and siblings, Lois Ann Wheeler and Greg (Kathy) Hewitt, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Chetek Lutheran Church at 5:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM. The family invites those attending for a dinner and time of remembrance in the church fellowship hall following the service.

The Burnham-Ours Kolstad Family Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
