Art's legacy lives on through his sons: Jens Arthur Saxum and his wife Bonnie (Martin) Saxum, their children - his beloved grandchildren - Haakin and Adelina; Joel Howard Saxum and his partner Kayla Franey, and his older sister, Diane.

Art was not only a loving family man but also a dear friend to many. He shared countless adventures with his fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and Harley buddies, creating memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

One cannot forget Art’s deep bond with his beloved cat, Angel, his furry friend who provided him with comfort and companionship for many years.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the community of friends and well-wishers who supported Art during his journey. Your visits, shared meals, and unwavering support brought comfort and strength to him and his loved ones during a challenging time.

Art will be remembered for his light-hearted spirit paired with his powerful sense of calm, and his dedication to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and fond memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A visitation and memorial service to celebrate Art will be held at Hayward Funeral Home in Hayward on Saturday, October 14 from 2:00pm until 3:00 P.M. with a celebration of life at Angler’s on Main Street to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Art’s Hospice team at Regional Hospice Services & Palliative Care, a deserving group that gave Art great comfort in his final days.
