In Memory of Arnold W. Schuster, Jr.


February 19, 1931 - April 11, 2024

Arnold Schuster Jr., age 93, of Hayward, WI., passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward.

Arnold William Schuster Jr. was born February 19, 1931 in Chicago, IL the son of Arnold Sr. and Anna (Paus) Schuster.

He was raised in Chicago where he attended school and then worked for the US Postal Service. Arnold joined the U.S. Air Force on February 16, 1949, and served during the Korean War. He was awarded with the Occupation Medal (Germany) and the Korean Service Medal. Upon his honorable discharge from service in 1952, Arnold returned to Chicago where he began work as an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 134. On January 28, 1956, Arnold was joined in marriage to Jeanine Frances Bergeron at St. Christina’s Catholic Church in Chicago. Arnold and Jeanine lived in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood of Chicago. The family would vacation in Hayward, WI where they owned property on Lost Land Lake. Arnold would spend over 40 years of his electrical career starting in industrial construction before taking a position with Cook County. Arnold retired in 1993 and he and Jeanine moved to Hayward, WI in 1997. Arnold enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, golfing, and always had a dog in the house. He was an avid Chicago sports fan supporting the White Sox, Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.

Arnold is survived by his three daughters, Caryle (Tim) Montag of Chicago, Louise Schuster of Gurnee, IL, Martha Schuster of Oak Forest, IL; five grandchildren, Brian, Steven, Theodore, Sarah and Matthew; six great grandchildren, Brayden, Vivienne, Jayce, Grayson, Frances and Reagan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanine; one sister, Rosemarie Novak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Arnold at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward with Father Karunaker Madanu officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Interment with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Beaver Brook Township, WI.
