Ann Shimon Age 82, of Birchwood, WI, died Monday, March 6, 2023 in Hayward, WI.

She was born on October 10, 1940 in Rice Lake, WI to Samuel and Metha (Zieroth) Hathaway.

Ann graduated from Rice Lake High School and then attended Barron County Normal School. She was married to Jim Shimon on February 7, 1959 in Rice Lake. Ann dairy farmed with her father and also worked for Mastercraft for many years. She loved to read, crochet, sing, cook for her family, watch game shows, ride horses and to work on crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Shimon; 5 children, Debbie (Kim) Drost, Brenda Henck, Hedy (Gary) Amundson, Carol (Roger) Berg and Jackie (Roy) Pedersen; 11 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Tom) Koenig; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Nancy Hathaway, Shirley Hathaway and Nora King; 2 brothers, Richard and Jerry Hathaway; and son-in-law, Terry Henck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30AM Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Adam Laski officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM-11:30AM Saturday at the church.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements.
