In Memory of Allan D. Loveland
Allan DeMar Loveland, age 88, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 at his residence in Hayward, Wisconsin. He was born on June 11, 1936, in Lake Geneva, WI, the son of Loren and Ruby (Milbrath) Loveland. After Ruby’s death Loren married Grace Wyman Clark. She brought two sons into the marriage now giving Allan two brothers. He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Gile on July 30, 1960, in Lake Geneva, WI.
Allan graduated from Lake Geneva High School with the class of 1955. He was a graduate of Moler Barber College. He then operated his own shop in Huntley, IL. Later he owned and operated Loveland Upholstery and Archery Shop in Lake Geneva. Allan served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a cook. His love of cooking lasted throughout his life.
Al loved his family. He took great pride in being able to spend quality time with his children. He loved hunting and fishing and had his children in the woods and on the water when they were young. He had a fantastic memory of the north woods. He could tell you every spot he had hunted from and what happened that day. While living in Lake Geneva the whole Loveland family were active members of the Big Foot Archery Club. Al served as Club House Manager for many years. In 2006, when Al and Carol retired, they moved to Hayward so Al could fish and hunt in the area he loved. He joined the Hayward Bass Club and spent many enjoyable hours fishing with his son as his partner.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol Loveland of Hayward, WI; his children, Shane Loveland of Hayward, WI and Jodi (Robert) Matarelli of Carlton, MN; his granddaughters, Samantha and Megan Martarelli; and four nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Delmar and Eugene Clark.
Memorial donations sent to Carol will be given to the Hayward Bass Club to help with the Youth Program or online donations can be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
All services and interment will be held privately.
