Albert Vernon Koehn, age 90, of Barron, unexpectedly but peacefully, passed away at his home on October 8, 2024.

He was born October 27, 1933, to Wilbert and Margaret (Gable) Koehn at Harrison, Michigan. This is where he spent his childhood years and received his education.

On November 11, 1956, he married Carol Mininger and to this union were born 6 children.

He was a carpenter by trade. In 1978, they moved to Wisconsin, where they settled on a dairy farm. After selling the cows in 1996, he went back to doing what he loved, working with wood.

When mom passed away in 2021, it left him very lonely.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his children, Kelvin (Bonita) Koehn of DeRidder, LA, Shelley (Wendell) Litwiller of Barron, Brenda (Daryl) Toews of Bloomfield, IA, Bonnie (Randy) Toews of Livingston, CA, Terry (Tamara) Koehn of Harvard, ID and Andy (Jeanette) Koehn of Barron; 26 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; sister, Rosella (Wallace) Longpre; brother, Martin (Norma) Koehn.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a great-grandson; and a sister.

A funeral service for Albert Koehn will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Barron Mennonite Church in Barron. Visitation will be Monday, October 14, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Barron Mennonite Church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning. Burial will be at the Barron Mennonite Cemetery in Barron.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
