Woman Sentenced to 25 Years Prison for Child Sexual Assault

Violet Reynolds has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison for a conviction of child sexual assault.

Online circuit court records show that Reynolds appeared in Burnett County Circuit Court for a sentencing hearing on November 9, 2017, regarding her pending criminal cases in Burnett County.

DrydenWire.com reported on June 8, 2017, that Reynolds had entered a plea of No Contest to her charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child. A second charge of 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault - Intercourse with Person under 12 was dismissed but read-in by the Court. These charges stemmed from an incident in 2014 in which the Burnett County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint that an 11-year old boy had stated to his grandmother that he had been sexually assaulted by Reynolds. During interviews with law enforcement, the boy stated that Reynolds told him she would beat him up if he didn’t keep quiet and have sex with her.

At Reynolds’ sentencing hearing on November 9, the Court ordered her to serve 25 years of initial confinement in state prison, to be followed by 15 years of extended supervision by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Probation & Parole.

Additionally, the Court sentenced Reynolds to serve 1 year and 6 months for a conviction for Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine in separate case. In a third case, the Court sentenced Reynolds to serve an additional 9 months in confinement for a conviction for Misdemeanor Theft of Movable Property. The Court ordered that all of Reynolds’ sentences are to be served consecutively, meaning that they will be served one after another.

Reynolds will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of her life, and the Court ordered her to engage in a sex offender treatment program, along with alcohol and drug abuse treatment programming. She was also ordered to pay a total of $22,000 in fines, and restitution of nearly $500.
