BURNETT COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced Angelica Vogel for possession of meth in Burnett County and operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.
Vogel was arrested in March 2021 after a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped her vehicle for speeding. The Trooper observed signs of possible impairment and a subsequent investigation including a standardized field sobriety test was conducted, according to a press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Vogel was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary blood draw before being transported to the Burnett County jail. Results of any blood test were not included in the press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol which indicated that a child was also in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.
Charges of Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Class I Felony Possession of THC (2nd+ Offense), Misdemeanor Operate with Restricted Controlled Substance (1st w/ Minor Pass < 16 yrs.), and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia were filed against Vogel.
Online circuit court records show that Vogel appeared most recently on June 23, 2022, regarding her charges, and the Hon. Melissia Mogen accepted Vogel’s plea of guilty to her charges of Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and a reduced charge of non-criminal Operate with Restricted Controlled Substance 1st Offense (without the penalty enhancer for a child being in the vehicle). Details of the reason for the reduced charge were not listed in online records.
Vogel received a withheld sentence with 18 months of probation for the felony conviction of Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine. For the conviction of Operate with Restricted Controlled Substance 1st Offense, Vogel will be required to pay nearly $1,000 in costs and fees and complete an OWI Assessment and Driver Safety Plan. Conditions of probation will require Vogel to maintain absolute sobriety and gainful employment.
