UPDATE: Widespread Severe Storms Likely

(NWS) -- 5:00pm Update: The risk for severe storms remains late this afternoon and evening, but timing has shifted to be later.

If storms develop in northeast Minnesota late this afternoon they will quickly become severe producing large hail and damaging winds.

As they move into northwest Wisconsin, the threat transitions to mainly damaging winds.

Note, at the current rate if storms do not develop in the next 1-2 hours.
