A Webster, WI woman has plead guilty to a charge of child neglect in Burnett County Circuit Court, along with other criminal charges.
DrydenWire.com reported in 2017 that Angela Rogers of Webster, WI, was facing multiple criminal charges in three separate cases filed against her in Burnett County Circuit Court.
Rogers was charged with eight counts of child neglect after Burnett County law enforcement and Health and Human Services investigated the living conditions in her residence and found them unfit.
According to a criminal complaint filed against Rogers, when investigating officers entered her residence in February 2017, they found garbage scattered around the home along with old food and clothes. No area of the kitchen was clean enough to prepare food in, and there was old food, garbage and dirty dishes scattered around that room as well. The hallways and bedrooms were also strewn with clothing. The criminal complaint went on to state that Public Health officials returned to the residence 3 weeks later, they found the residence’s toilet overflowing with feces, the kitchen sink was full of standing water, and the entire residence was filled with the odor of urine, feces and rotting food. Rogers stated to officials that the residence had been without running water for nearly a year.
In a separate case filed against Rogers in December 2017, law enforcement had received a report that she was using marijuana in a residence while children were present. A criminal complaint filed in Burnett County Circuit Court stated that investigating officers found a zippered pouch containing marijuana in the living room. DrydenWire.com reported Rogers was charged with Misdemeanor Possession of THC (Marijuana) and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping following that incident.
A previous case had been filed against Rogers in Burnett County Circuit Court in August 2016, charging her with 10 counts of Misdemeanor Issuance of Worthless Checks. Details of that case are not known to DrydenWire.com at this time.
Online circuit court records show that Rogers appeared for a plea hearing recently and plead guilty to 1 count of Misdemeanor Child Neglect, 1 count of Misdemeanor Issuance of Worthless Check, and Misdemeanor Possession of THC (Marijuana). The rest of her charges were dismissed but read in by the Court.
The Court accepted her guilty plea and ordered 2 years of probation and 5 days of jail time with credit for time served. Rogers was ordered to pay restitution and court costs; comply with Health and Human Services; undergo an Alcohol and Other Drug Assessment; and attend therapy until the Department of Corrections should see that it is no longer necessary.
