Washburn County Board Chair Thomas Mackie posted the following statement on DrydenWire's Facebook page.
The personnel committee has met in closed session to discuss personnel issues if discussed in open session may be harmful to the reputations of persons involved. In closed session, items discussed are not to be disclosed until open session action is taken. I am very disappointed that any discussion that took place in that meeting has "leaked" out. Personnel issues are a very delicate subject, and if, handled incorrectly could lead to litigation. Fueling the fires of a rumor mill does not bode well for the reputation of employees of Washburn County. The executive committee of Washburn County Board will be meeting on January, 30th at 2:00 p.m. to discuss personnel issues in closed session. Thomas J. Mackie, Washburn County Board Chair
