Washburn County Woman Arrested For OWI With Child In Car

WASHBURN COUNTY — A 31-year-old woman from Sarona, WI was arrested on Saturday for allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

(News Release) — Nicole Jillian Janzen Duncan, 31 years of age, from Sarona has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16.

On Saturday, October 12, 2019 at approximately 10:34 PM a Wisconsin State Trooper assisted the Spooner Police Department at the scene of a two-vehicle property damage crash on State Highway 70 near Mavis Street in Spooner. A subsequent investigation showed that Ms. Janzen Duncan was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Ms. Janzen Duncan was arrested and transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test of her blood and then to the Washburn County Jail. She is being charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 1st offense with a minor in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the Spooner Police Department. Deputies from the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
