BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) - Authorities in Burnett County have released the name of the man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Burnett County on December 6, 2023.
Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch said on Friday that the driver of the vehicle is identified as Brandon Peer, 38, of Webster, Wisconsin.
Sheriff Finch added that this case is still under investigation.

BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A male was discovered deceased after authorities in Burnett County responded to a distress call reporting a one-vehicle crash near the intersection of County Road C and Devils Lake Road in the Town of Oakland on Wednesday, according to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office.

On December 6, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m. Burnett County Dispatch received a call of a one-vehicle crash near the intersection of County Road C and Devils Lake Road in the Town of Oakland. Law Enforcement, Ambulance, and Fire Services responded.
Upon arrival, law enforcement observed a vehicle that had rolled and come to rest on the passenger side. A male was partially ejected from the vehicle.
It appears the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Devils Lake Road and failed to negotiate a curve causing the vehicle to roll. The lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The occupant’s dog was found by first responders near the scene and was transported to the Burnett County Humane Society.
The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Siren Police Department, North Ambulance, Webster Fire Department, and the Burnett County Medical Examiner’s Office for their assistance.
This case is still under investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
