Two Teens Airlifted To Hospitals Following Rollover Crash In Barron County

BARRON COUNTY — An 18-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were airlifted to local hospitals with serious injuries following a rollover crash in Barron County near Dallas, WI, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 10:13pm the Barron County 911 Center received a call of a one vehicle rollover on County Road U just south of Dallas.

Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Mayo Ambulance, Dallas Ambulance, WI State Patrol, Dallas Fire Department, Life Link Helicopter and Mayo Helicopter all responded to the scene.

Initial investigation shows a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old male from Rice Lake was traveling south on County Road U when he went off the road, struck a driveway and landed upside down in the roadway.

The passenger, an 18-year-old female from Rice Lake, and the driver were both extricated from the vehicle and flown to area hospitals with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is being reconstructed by the WI State Patrol and remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in this crash and reports will be forwarded to the Barron County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle while under the influence of alcohol causing injuries.
