Tucker, Armstrong, Green, And Summerfield Win GOP Primary Races

There were four Assembly races in our area in this year’s election primary with no Senate races. All four had at least two republican candidates in the running. No democrats challenged in the primary but will face the winner(s) of the GOP races below this November. There was one democratic primary race in our area, the 7th, and the winner will challenge Tom Tiffany in the general.

The following are the unofficial election results with 100% of the precincts reporting.

  • Dave Armstrong: 5,655, 78%
  • Jimmy Swenson: 1,589, 22%

68th AD

  • Rob Summerfield: 5,899, 64%
  • Cliff Taylor: 3,381, 36%

74th AD

  • Chanz Green: 4,000, 57%
  • Scott Harbridge 3,032, 43%

75th AD

  • Duke Tucker: 4,161, 50%
  • Jay Calhoun: 2,543, 31%
  • Neil Kline: 1,631, 20%

U.S. House

7th Congressonal District (Democratic Party)

  • Kyle Kilbourn: 39,920, 58%
  • Elsa Duranceau: 23,785, 42%

Statewide Referendum Questions

Q1: Prohibit Legislature from Delegating Appropriations

  • No: 703,461, 57%
  • Yes: 521,122, 43%

Q2: Require Legislative Approval for Federal Funds

  • No: 705,591, 58%
  • Yes: 520,778, 42%
