The third and final defendant has been sentenced in Washburn County Circuit Court regarding his criminal charges in a Spooner Police Drug Bust case from December 2016.
William Graham, of Trego, WI appeared in court on July 5, 2018 for a sentencing hearing on his case. DrydenWire.com reported previously that William was facing charges of 3 counts of Class H Felony Battery or Threat to a Law Enforcement Officer, Class I Felony Manufacture/Deliver THC (Marijuana), Misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing, Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct, and Misdemeanor Possession of THC (Marijuana).
These charges stemmed from a lengthy drug investigation by the Spooner Police Department involving many tips and multiple search warrants. Charges were also filed against Nicholas Graham and Matthew Mustafa. Criminal complaints filed in Washburn County Circuit Court stated that law enforcement were able to retrieve messages from text conversations that indicated involvement in the sales and delivery of controlled substances.
During a December 5, 2016, traffic stop which led to his charges, William reportedly became verbally combative with officers, yelling profanities and creating a disturbance.
When officers arrived at the Washburn County jail with William, he began fighting with a Jail Deputy and one of the Spooner Police Officers, continually spitting at them and physically resisting their efforts to place him in the holding cell while stating that he was going to “beat” all of the officers in the cell. William also allegedly stated that he knew where three of the officers lived and then stated that he was going to go each of their homes and burn them down; as well as stating that he was going to kill the family of one of the officers, including that officer's father.
Online circuit court records show that in April 2018 William entered pleas of No Contest to 1 count of Class H Felony Battery or Threat to a Law Enforcement Officer and also to his charge of Class I Felony Manufacture/Deliver THC (Marijuana). The rest of William’s charges were dismissed but read in.
At William’s sentencing hearing, the Court ordered an imposed and stayed sentence of 9 Months Local Jail with an imposed sentence of 3 years of probation. The Court also ordered William to complete 240 hours of community service as a condition of probation.
DrydenWire.com reported in April 2018 that Nicholas Graham was sentenced to 2 years of probation on his conviction for Class I Felony Manufacture/Deliver THC (Marijuana).
In December 2017 Matthew Mustafa was sentenced on his conviction for Class I Felony Possess w/Intent THC (Marijuana) to 3 years of probation under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Probation & Parole.
