A Spooner, WI woman is facing felony charges in Washburn County Circuit Court for Intent to Deliver Marijuana along with other criminal charges following a traffic stop by a Shell Lake Police Officer.
Julia Vogel, of Spooner, WI is charged with Class I Felony Possession with Intent to Deliver THC (Marijuana), Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance, and two counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following an incident on April 27, 2018 when a Shell Lake, WI Police Officer conducted a traffic stop because Vogel did not come to a complete stop at a stop sign.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Vogel, after the officer observed the traffic violation, he caught up to Vogel’s vehicle and stopped it. When the officer advised Vogel of the reason for the stop, she stated that she did stop. The officer noted that Vogel was behaving nervously, and asked her where she was coming from. Vogel told the officer that she was coming from a friend’s house just up the road. Although Vogel provided a first name for the friend to the officer, she said that she could not remember the house number and could not describe to the officer where the house was.
Wisconsin State Patrol K9 Unit provided assistance with this stop. Upon the arrival of the Trooper, Vogel was heard to say that she had a small amount of marijuana in her car and that the officers were not going to like how it was packaged. The criminal complaint goes on to state that Vogel proceeded to then admit to selling marijuana in Shell Lake right before the traffic stop. She also stated that she had marijuana packaged in 1-ounce amounts in individual bags inside of a purse in the car.
Vogel was placed under arrest at that time and the officers conducted a search of her vehicle. During the search, officers found seven sandwich bags containing marijuana, as well as a gem bag containing marijuana and another gem bag containing Xanax pills. Officers also found a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana, and a marijuana grinder during the search.
The criminal complaint states that officers found a total of 54 grams of marijuana.
If convicted as charged, Vogel faces a possible maximum sentence of 3 years and 6 months in State Prison for the charge of Class I Felony Possession with Intent to Deliver THC (Marijuana).
Online circuit court records show that Vogel is also facing criminal charges of Misdemeanor Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Misdemeanor Possession of THC (Marijuana), and Misdemeanor Possession Drug Paraphernalia in a separate case filed in Washburn County Circuit Court stemming from an incident on April 19, 2018. Details of that case are not known to DrydenWire.com at this time.
Vogel is scheduled to make an initial appearance on her criminal charges next week.
