Spooner Middle School Students Create ‘WOW Wall’ To Spread Positivity, Inspire Others

SPOONER, WI - Three 7th grade students have created a “WOW Wall” to spread positivity and inspire others to express their own creativity at the the Spooner Area Middle School. The Spooner Area School District says that "the inspiration came from an idea that Rallye had last summer to hang artwork and inspiring quotes around the school when we returned after the long building closure."

Three 7th grade students have been working hard to spread positivity, inspire others to express their creativity, and showcase the incredible talents of Spooner Middle School Students! Aeva, MaKayla, and Rallye, created a wall specifically for students to hang work they're proud of to share with students, staff, and visitors.

The inspiration came from an idea that Rallye had last summer to hang artwork and inspiring quotes around the school when we returned after the long building closure. When she came back to school, she enlisted the support of Aeva and MaKayla. Between the three students, they ran with the idea and made it happen! They initially approached Mrs. Villella with the idea and worked together to find a space, create the backdrop for submissions, and develop a plan to spread the word. Mrs. Pufall (SMS STEM Teacher) helped them to create a video that was shared with all students explaining the purpose of the wall and giving direction for how to submit work.

A student recently shared with Aeva that they looked to the wall for inspiration and found it! Aeva, MaKayla, and Rallye would like to continue spreading the word about the WOW Wall and welcome submissions from any SMS student. Submissions can include drawings, poems, song lyrics, or anything else that expresses one's creativity. All submissions are reviewed before posting just to make sure they're appropriate for school but so far, this has not been an issue.

Submissions can be anonymous or include a name.

Thank you to these wonderful students for helping to make our school amazing!
