Spooner Man Sentenced For Possession Of Child Pornography

WASHBURN COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced a Spooner, WI man on convictions for possession of child pornography.

DrydenWire published a post in October 2019 stating that Jeffery Colegrove of Spooner, WI, was facing charges for Possession of Child Pornography following an investigation into a cybertip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

According to a criminal complaint filed against Colegrove, the investigation revealed that Colegrove’s email address was tied to a social media user account that was connected to the suspected images of child pornography.

On October 17, 2019, law enforcement conducted a search warrant at Colegrove’s residence. During the course of the search warrant, Law Enforcement retrieved electronic devices belonging to Colegrove which were ultimately found to contain additional images of child pornography.

Colegrove was charged with 10 counts of Class D Felony Possession of Child Pornography.

Online circuit court records show that he appeared most recently on September 15, 2021 for a sentencing hearing.

The Court ordered Colegrove to serve 3 years of initial confinement in state prison, followed by 3 years of extended supervision to fulfill concurrent sentences of 6 years each for two convictions of Class D Felony Possession of Child Pornography.

The remaining counts against Colegrove were dismissed but read in.

The Court ordered Colegrove to register for 15 years with the Sex Offender Registry.

Conditions of extended supervision will also require Colegrove to maintain absolute sobriety, and he will be prohibited from having contact with minors or having access to the internet unless approved by a Department of Corrections Agent. Colegrove received credit for 70 days already served.
