BURNETT COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced a Siren, WI woman for her conviction of 6th Offense Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) stemming from a single-vehicle crash incident in Burnett County in December 2019.

DrydenWire.com reported on December 20, 2019, that Haaf was facing charges following the investigation into a single-vehicle crash that occurred on December 8, 2019. A criminal complaint filed against Haaf stated that she admitted to consuming a “couple” alcoholic beverages prior to putting her vehicle into the ditch off Leef Road and County Road A in Burnett County.

Officers on scene noticed that Haaf’s speech was slurred and she had a difficult time getting out of her vehicle. Haaf was not able to successfully complete field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test indicated a breath alcohol concentration of .185. Haaf was transported for a voluntary blood draw; test results of that blood draw are not known to DrydenWire.com.

Haaf was charged with Class G Felony 6th Offense OWI and Class G Felony 6th Offense Operate With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (PAC). Online Circuit Court records show that Haaf appeared for a plea and sentencing hearing on March 9, 2021. The Court accepted Haaf’s plea of guilty to her charge of Class G Felony 6th Offense OWI. The charge of Class G Felony Operate With PAC was merged and dismissed.

The Court ordered a 5 1/2 year sentence for Haaf; 1 year and 6 months of initial confinement in state prison to be followed by 4 years of extended supervision. Haaf is also ordered to complete 80 hours of community service within the first year following her release from incarceration.

Conditions of supervision will require Haaf to maintain absolute sobriety until the Department of Corrections advises otherwise; complete an alcohol and other drug assessment with follow-through; and complete an OWI assessment and driver safety plan.

Haaf will pay nearly $2,600 in court costs and fines and her driver’s license will be revoked for 3 years.
