BURNETT COUNTY -- A Siren, WI man facing multiple criminal charges has been sentenced on a meth-related conviction and ordered to serve probation with conditional jail time or drug treatment.
DrydenWire.com reported in August 2018 that Alexander Litz, of Siren, WI was facing multiple criminal charges in Burnett County Circuit Court including burglary, theft and drug charges.
Litz allegedly burglarized more than one residence as well as the Dollar General store and the Yourchuck store. Additional methamphetamine charges were also filed against Litz stemming from incidents in February and March 2018.
Online circuit court records show that Litz appeared in Burnett County Circuit Court for a sentencing hearing on July 1, 2019.
Prior to that, Litz appeared in April 2019 and entered a plea of guilty to a charge of Class E Felony Manuf/Deliver Amphetamine(>3-10g). His remaining charges of Class F Felony Delivery of Methamphetamine (in an amount of 3 grams or less, Class F Felony Burglary of a Building or Dwelling, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Resisting an Officer, and two counts of Misdemeanor Retail Theft were all dismissed but read in.
At the sentencing hearing on July 1, the Court accepted a proposed settlement agreement from Burnett County District Attorney Schieffer and defense counsel for Litz and ordered an imposed and stayed prison sentence with 3 years of probation and 1 year of conditional jail time. Litz received credit for 286 days already served.
In addition, the Court granted Litz an option to enter a treatment program approved by the Department of Corrections in place of serving time in jail.
Conditions of Litz’s probation also require him to undergo an alcohol and other drug assessment and follow through with recommendations as well as maintaining absolute sobriety and submitting to regular testing.
