Rollover Crash In Barron County Sends Balsam Lake Woman To Hospital

BARRON COUNTY -- A single-vehicle rollover crash occurred on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at around 7:00p on County Road W, west of Cameron. The Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call reporting the incident, which prompted a rapid response from multiple emergency services, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department 911 center received a call of a one vehicle roll over on County Road W west of Cameron.

Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with Cameron Fire Department, Barron County First Responders, Barron Police Department, Marshfield Medical Center Ambulance and Life Link Helicopter all responded to the scene.

Initial investigation shows that the vehicle was travelling east on County Road W when it went off the road, the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to roll several times. A lone female occupant was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, a 42-year-old female from Balsam Lake, was flown to an Eau Claire hospital with serious but non-threatening injuries.

The crash is under invitation but the driver was not supposed to be operating a motor vehicle and a case will be referred to the Barron County District Attorney’s Office.
